The Import Consignment API returns the consignment data as it is received in the CUSCAR messages from the Shipping agent. These CUSCAR messages are sent in to customs to declare the cargo discharged at a terminal.
You can re-use this cargo data digitally in your software and as such:
All information is available digitally, based on unique identifiers of the cargo.
In order to retrieve the data from this NxtPort service, you need to provide a unique key (combination of BL number/Container number or BL number/Vessel stay), which identifies the cargo objects.
Avoid human errors and increase the quality of your data.
Save time with pre-filled information in your logistic files. Information is available sooner and more complete.

As a shipping agent you can participate to the NxtPort use case by providing your CUSCAR messages. Doing so enables your customers and subcontractors to look up the consignment info and reuse it digitally. This can be a commercial advantage, and could save you time answering questions about your CUSCAR content.
To start sharing your CUSCAR messages, contact NxtPort. We make it easy for you to get your data on the platform and start sharing it through the API.
You always keep full ownership of your data and stay in control of who gets access, through the NxtPort Console. We provide a full audit trail of who used your data, and when.
Participate with the community and exchange your data with users and companies further on in the supply chain.
You stay owner of your data and are able to define data fees allowing you to profit from the data exchange!

This API is an access-controlled API. This means that your application needs to accommodate an OAuth2 authentication flow between the application user and the NxtPort platform.
The application user logs in to the NxtPort identity component, and your application requests access to the API on behalf of the application user. The NxtPort platform then returns an access token to your application, which can be used to call the API.
To be able to request an access token, your application needs to be registered in the NxtPort platform. Registering an application is currently a manual process, so please contact NxtPort for this. Go to our support desk where you will find all required information on how to get started.
In order to connect your application, you can test by using our sandbox. All required information can be found on Github, Swagger or our Wiki pages. We chat through #slack.
